Those Who Have Gone Before Us: Made us who we are today
Frank Sr. was originally a staff sergeant in the Air Force during WWII. He landed in Normandy on D-Day and went through the Battle of the Bulge. He began as an aircraft mechanic, working at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut. Later, he started working for a Chrysler dealership for a few years before becoming an alignment specialist at John’s Garage in Manchester. In 1967, he went off on his own and started building Frank’s Front End Service.
The oldest son, “Butch” (Frank Jr.), started working for his dad in late 1967. At the end of 1967–68, Butch sold his father a piece of land he owned, which housed a small garage-like shed where they worked for the first two years of business.
In 1972, the second son, Eddie, began working for his dad as the bookkeeper and secretary. In 1976, the third son, Joey, joined the business. Joey took on the responsibility of running Frank’s after the passing of his brother Eddie in the summer of 2022. He managed the business for about a year with the support of his loving wife Sandy.
With no family members to pass the business onto, Joey and Sandy began discussing the sale of the beloved family business. In late fall of 2023, the business was sold to longtime friends of 25 years, Jason Bill and Ronald Gamache. Together, they have partnered to carry on Frank’s legacy.
Without the hard work and amazing friendship of both Eddie and Joey, who offered many years of flawless service to both myself and my company, Auto Service Solutions Inc., and the unsurpassed friendship and lifelong bond to myself, Jason Bill, Frank’s Front End would have stopped with this last generation of these two great brothers.
They would often discuss and joke with me about how I would one day purchase the place from them. I never truly expected it to become a reality. But with the bond of our friendships and shared business ethics, they were able to comfortably sell the business to two good friends, Ron Gamache and myself, Jason Bill.
Together, Ron and I will keep the legacy of what Frank’s Front End was—and what it is to become—at the forefront of our new business adventure. Eddie and Joey Dubisz will forever hold a special place in my heart and in my family, allowing us to move forward into the future with the comfort of knowing their legacy will live on.
